Salon Solatte Tanning Mist contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is an FDA-approved coor additive for externally applied cosmetics made for imparting color to the human body. DHA and erythrulose, a related substance, work safely with the skin to form dark compounds in the same way that a freshly cut apple darkens upon exposure to air and light.
DHA is the ingredient used by most tanning salons for spray tanning.
While normally non-irritating, the formula may cause reactions in some individuals who are sensitive to self-tanning lotions or cosmetics. If you have a pre-existing skin disorder, or if you have asthma, you may want to check with your doctor before use.
DHA blends with the skin to create a deep, lustrous, gradual tan in 24-48 hours. The color remains - not the DHA - until the skin begins to naturally flake, the phenomenon that causes your tan to fade. Use a moisturizer regularly to prolong your perfect tan.
Try not to get DHA in your eyes, but if it happens, quickly flush your eyes with water.
There are no known effects from inhaling the spray, and inhalation studies indicate that the product is not toxic by inhalation according to the Federal Hazardous Substances Act/Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines, but we suggest that you spray either outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. If you have a history of asthma or other respiratory disorders, check with your doctor before using this product.
Spray Salon Solatte Tanning Mist on a makeup sponge. Use the sponge to apply your tan. Do not apply to the lips, or to the area between the brow and the lower lashes.
It's always fun to have help, but you can still apply Salon Solatte Tanning Mist when alone. The container can be sprayed in any direction, and can even be held upside down. If necessary, simply spray as much of your back as you can, then use a soft cloth to spread the mist to places where the colorant is not apparent.
While your skin will have more color immediately, the actual tanning effect of Salon Solatte Tanning Mist takes a little longer as a gradual tan develops. The immediate color is the result of water-soluble coloring that is added to the formula so you can see where the spray has been applied. This helps prevent over application and spotting.
If applied correctly and if you don't shower or wash off the DHA in the first 4 to 8 hours, the tan from your Salon Solatte Tanning Mist should last up to seven days. Results may vary for each individual.
